Braving hordes of drunken firework goers on the trian, we nervously clutched Hugh and wondered whether this was all a big mistake. As we poured out of the train with half of Sydney we were surprised to discover Hugh was grinning and laughing at anyone who caught his eye.When we found a relatively calm corner we placed him in his stroller and started towards the water's edge. Within five paces he was fast asleep and continued to sleep soundly as the Sydney sky lit up with colour and hundreds of loud "booms" exploded and echoed above our heads.
